monumento<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">La iglesia de San Nicol\u00e1s se concibe como un lugar de acogida de la Iglesia en Granada, abierta a todos, sin acepci\u00f3n. Tras un importante proceso de rehabilitaci\u00f3n de varios a\u00f1os, la prematura apertura de la iglesia se llev\u00f3 a cabo el 11 de marzo de 2022 con un fin muy espec\u00edfico: poder ofrecer un espacio de encuentro y oraci\u00f3n por la paz mundial.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">Ubicada en el coraz\u00f3n del milenario barrio del Albaic\u00edn y justo en frente del famoso mirador que lleva su nombre, esta iglesia ofrece una doble experiencia. Por un lado, la visita cultural al interior del templo, cuya entrada es completamente gratuita; y por otro, la subida a la Torre, para la cual se adquiere un ticket, y que ofrece unas panor\u00e1micas espectaculares del entorno monumental y de la ciudad.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_7 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><div class=\"flex-c gap-12\" data-om-id=\"jsx:\/https:\/019e074e-0e2a-7459-b2c0-2b793436eb45.claudeusercontent.com\/v1\/design\/projects\/019e074e-0e2a-7459-b2c0-2b793436eb45\/serve\/monument-detail.jsx:6548:155:7\"><span data-om-id=\"jsx:\/https:\/019e074e-0e2a-7459-b2c0-2b793436eb45.claudeusercontent.com\/v1\/design\/projects\/019e074e-0e2a-7459-b2c0-2b793436eb45\/serve\/monument-detail.jsx:6626:156:20\" style=\"font-size: small;\">02<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-om-id=\"jsx:\/https:\/019e074e-0e2a-7459-b2c0-2b793436eb45.claudeusercontent.com\/v1\/design\/projects\/019e074e-0e2a-7459-b2c0-2b793436eb45\/serve\/monument-detail.jsx:6548:155:7\">\n<h2>Historia del Monasterio de San Nicol\u00e1s<\/h2>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">La historia de este templo est\u00e1 estrechamente ligada a la transformaci\u00f3n religiosa y urbana de Granada tras la Reconquista, consolid\u00e1ndose como uno de los centros espirituales del Albaic\u00edn.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"4\">Origen y fundaci\u00f3n del templo<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">Los inicios documentados del monumento se remontan al a\u00f1o <b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"58\">1501<\/b>. La Iglesia de San Nicol\u00e1s pertenece al selecto grupo de parroquias erigidas en la ciudad mediante la bula del cardenal Pedro Gonz\u00e1lez de Mendoza. Desde sus inicios, conform\u00f3 junto al convento de San Agust\u00edn y al monasterio de las Tomasas un importante y significativo n\u00facleo \"sacro\" dentro del entramado urbano del hist\u00f3rico barrio.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"6\">Construcci\u00f3n y arquitectura g\u00f3tico-mud\u00e9jar<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">Las obras principales del edificio se dieron por finalizadas en <b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"64\">1525<\/b> bajo la direcci\u00f3n del maestro Rodrigo Hern\u00e1ndez. Tipol\u00f3gicamente, el templo responde a un programa constructivo g\u00f3tico-mud\u00e9jar muy caracter\u00edstico de la \u00e9poca. Se dise\u00f1\u00f3 con una planta rectangular de 19 metros de ancho por 33 metros de largo, la cual queda dividida en cinco tramos diferenciados mediante cuatro arcos diafragmas de tipo ojival que descansan sobre elegantes m\u00e9nsulas, dando cobijo originalmente a cinco capillas laterales.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"8\">La construcci\u00f3n de la torre<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Pocos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s del cuerpo principal, en <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"44\">1543<\/b>, se concluyeron los trabajos de edificaci\u00f3n de su caracter\u00edstica torre. Como testimonio de su \u00e9poca de esplendor, en su estructura todav\u00eda se puede apreciar el escudo tallado de Francisco Ni\u00f1o de Guevara, quien fuera el s\u00e9ptimo arzobispo de Granada y bajo cuyo mandato se terminaron las obras de este elemento tan visible desde toda la ciudad.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"10\">Siglos de adversidades y transformaciones<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\">A lo largo de los siglos, el edificio ha tenido que sobrevivir a numerosos incidentes naturales, hist\u00f3ricos y demogr\u00e1ficos que alteraron su fisionom\u00eda y su actividad:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"12\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">El terremoto de 1614:<\/b> Un fuerte se\u00edsmo sacudi\u00f3 la ciudad causando importantes desperfectos en la estructura del templo.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">El rayo de 1828:<\/b> El 21 de febrero de ese a\u00f1o, un rayo impact\u00f3 directamente sobre la torre, un suceso hist\u00f3rico del que queda constancia en los documentos conservados en el archivo de la Alhambra.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Ampliaci\u00f3n de 1830:<\/b> Se acometieron obras de mejora y ampliaci\u00f3n en la fachada, configurando el acceso y la entrada actual al templo.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,3,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Clausura de la parroquia (1842):<\/b> Debido a la progresiva p\u00e9rdida de fieles en la zona, la parroquia fue suprimida como tal y el templo qued\u00f3 adscrito a la cercana iglesia de San Jos\u00e9, iniciando un largo periodo de decadencia.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"13\">Renacimiento y rehabilitaci\u00f3n actual<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"14\">Tras sufrir importantes deterioros (como el derrumbe de la cubierta de su sacrist\u00eda en 1924), el templo inici\u00f3 una nueva etapa en el siglo XXI. Gracias a un profundo Proyecto de Rehabilitaci\u00f3n y Puesta en Valor, se lograron estabilizar las fachadas, asegurar las cubiertas y consolidar la torre. Esto permiti\u00f3 su prematura reapertura el 11 de marzo de 2022 con un fin muy espec\u00edfico: ofrecer un espacio restaurado de encuentro y oraci\u00f3n por la paz mundial, devolviendo este legado
