It is located in a privileged place in Granada, the historic Albaicín neighbourhood, and was one of the first churches built in the city during the 16th century by Rodrigo Hernández.
Typologically, it is a Mudejar Gothic construction programme and has a 19-metre rectangular floor plan and 5 side chapels. It should also be noted that throughout its history it has suffered numerous setbacks, such as a lightning strike in the 19th century and even several fires.
All these events have led to the church being restored on several occasions, the most striking being the one that took place from 2011 to 2022, through which the foundations and the structure were improved, the vault was fully intervened and the floors and roof were renovated, as well as including an important artistic decoration in its interior.
Its tower offers the most spectacular view of Granada, from which you can admire the Alhambra, Sierra Nevada and the whole city below. This setting makes its viewpoint a unique experience, giving us an unparalleled panoramic view.
